Extended Range Sidemount

Extended Range Sidemount Diving is already common practice for many wreck and cave divers. Now the benefits are being discovered by more and more also recreational divers. The ease of movement without a heavy tank on your back and a new feeling of buoyancy are enticing advantages of the diving style. You will earn the SSI Extended Range Sidemount Diving Specialty certification after completing this program.

Exploring an overhead environment like extended caves and large wrecks is an exciting endeavor. However, squeezing traditional dive equipment into the tight spaces found within these areas can be challenging. Improving streamlining using a sidemount configuration allows adventurous divers to free themselves up to explore more constricted places than ever before.

The Extended Range Sidemount program trains you in proper sidemount setup and the techniques required to efficient and effective use multiple stage cylinders carried for decompression diving in a sidemount configuration. You will earn the SSI Extended Range Sidemount certification after completing this program and can then apply that configuration to all other XR programs.
